Have you ever experienced a period in your life where the trials were so intense that you felt you could not withstand the heat? Did it seem like no matter your efforts, your faith, and your perseverance, that the flames just kept blazing hotter, the challenges becoming more magnified?
A little over a year ago, I opened my inspirational company ~Cheerful Hearts~, and my heart overflowed with joy as I realized my dream of encouraging others. During that time things were going extremely well in my life. So it appeared odd to me that as I opened my Bible for my daily reading that I kept landing on the same exact passage. The scripture was Daniel 3:19....”he ordered the furnace seven times hotter.”
This was in reference to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego saying that they would serve God whether they were thrown in the fiery furnace, even if God did not rescue them from it. (Daniel 13-30). I wondered why this particular passage kept showing itself to me.
Within months the evidence was clear. It was a preparation for me to cling tightly to God because the fire was about to get hotter than I ever imagined possible. Our once tightly knit family has been tested beyond measure. In the area of finances, deterioration and increased pain of my spinal condition, major disappointments, personal tragedy’s, and so on.
My first Cheer ~Mail message was to be delivered at the first of the year, and the title of my inspiration was going to be an article entitled “With God, all things are possible”. (Matthew 19:26). I was not able to launch because of a personal devastation, and a grieving heart. And my emotions were leading me to believe my faith was failing. But God is so wonderful, and assured me that He was still God and that with Him , indeed all things are possible!
The very day I was crying in despair and doubting if I would be able to continue encouraging others, my friend sent me an on line devotion with the message, “ All things are possible.”This was a confirmation to me that no matter how bleak things appeared, that God was still at work.
It is very hard to believe this when we are in the difficult trials of our lives, but if our faith does not fail, God will make the impossible possible. So I pray that as you are sifted like wheat, and the heat is turned up in your life, that you will keep strong in your faith! And that God will speak special words at the exact moment you need them to offer you hope. Just keep your heart open, your ears alert for His whispers, and your mind ready to receive the wisdom that can only come from the testing of our faith.
James 1: 2-4
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds. Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be Mature and complete, not lacking anything."
